A fantastic pastel drawing. Signed by the artist, Mary Yates and dated October 23rd 1950. It is titled 'Rydal' to the front. To the reverse there are two labels, the first is the pictures location. Underneath you can just see another label 'Royal Insitute Galleries, Piccadilly, London'. Mary Yates (1891 - 1974), was a celebrated artist and exhibited along side her father Fred, in London and the Lake District. One of her pastels was accepted into the Royal Academy. She was best known for her landscapes in pastel. This example has a wonderful depth of colour. Framed in a simple cream textured frame. A fabulous unique piece, perfect to add soul and character to any modern interior.
