Here for sale is a fantastic pair of antique opthamologist’s measuring rulers. Made from boxwood and inscribed on both sides with measuring scale. Dates from the early part of the 20th Century and fully marked with the makers name. Made by Raphael's Ltd, who made rulers for the measurements of facial and spectacle frame dimensions.During the early 20th century optometrists and opticians wanted to be precise as possuble in the fitting of spectacle frames.
Wonderful patina to the wood. The smaller ruler has a right angled piece missing.
This is very much as found. Shows signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.
We are a family company and love sourcing unusual pieces which bring a burst of individual style to the most modern of interiors, creating interiors with soul!
