A fantastic antique set of shop scales. Stamped by the maker, Parnall and Sons of Bristol. The original company was set up in 1820 in Narrow Street initially making weights but then expanding in to shop fittings and shop equipment. Made from cast iron with brass to the top, and lovely blacksmith made hanging hook. It is stamped to the brass 'Class C' and 'to weigh 7 Ibs'. Dating from the late Victorian period these scales were used in grocery shops and often visible in the window. There is a copper pan to one side and and several brass weights. A fabulous period piece, perfect for incorporating to an modern interior to add soul and character to a space.
