A fantastic antique book, titled 'The New Practical Garden and Modern Horticulturist', by James Anderson. Anderson was regarded as a renowned horticulturist and winner of the Banksian Gold medal awarded by the Royal Horticulture Society. Published by William Mackenzie and published between 1872 and 1874. With a lovely half leather binding and gold gilt lettering to the spine. Covering practical botany, greenhouse management, and landscaping. It is particularly famous for its beautiful, detailed chromolithograph color plates depicting various fruits, orchids, and prize flowers. With many exqusite colour plates and marble page edges. Perfect as a gift for any gardener or to read and enjoy.
