A fantastic and rare early antique armchair by Thonet. Reputedly designed by Thonet and is listed in the 56 catalogue which published in 1883. It is a rare and ground breaking design.
This is an early example stamped Thonet on the underside and with a label "Protected by Royal Letters Patent 17th Regd no 38220". The presence of the patent suggests that this may be a rare early example produced at the end of the 19th Century. The cane is in great order for its age. The arm rests are a lovely addition. A wonderful iconic shape and designed by a renowned maker. Perfect to incorporate into a modern interior to add souland character to a space.
Condition
In great condition considering its age. Shows signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.
Please look at photos closely as they form part of the item description.
