A fantastic antique dentist's cabinet by the Harvard Company of Canton, Ohio. The Harvard Company was founded in 1896 by Frank Case who also invented the first reclining dental chair. They specialised in high end dental equipment and furniture made from premium wood and featuring intricate storage and mechanised compartments.
This wonderful example is believed to be the model 46X and dates from around 1900. It is made from Oak and has a wonderful collection of all the things that make the Harvard Company cabinets so unique and sought after. Paricularly impressive is the internal swing out tray system with assortment of specialised compartments for dentists tools. The trays are attached by ornate brackets to a central cast iron swing mechanism.
It is rare to find such a complete example.
Condition
The top decoration has some losses. There are some historical repairs. The tambour is old and the backing material is loose so it is prone to getting stuck if lowered. Shows signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.
Please look at photos closely as they form part of the item description.
