A fantastic antique wrought iron Church Candle Votive Stand. This stunning Victorian stand was used in a church where a candle were lit along with a prayer. The stand has marks on it for Hayes and Finch Ltd, church candle makers and a patent mark for Staley's patent. The patent is for the mechanism to dispense the candles (which we haven't tested!). Hayes and Finch were founded in Liverpool in 1882. There is an ivorine sign for candles 1D each, or one penny.
The stand comes with six brass candle holders or cups. It is a lovely decorative piece and a wonderful piece of social history. With a wonderful timeworn patina. A rare find, perfect to incorporate into a modern interior to add soul and character to a space.
Condition
Black japanned finish to wrought iron is worn and missing in places. Shows signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.
Please look at photos closely as they form part of the item description.
Dimensions
62 cm width, 36 cm depth, 90 cm height (excl candle holders)
