A fantastic antique swivel chair from the dining room of a P&0 steamer ship. This stunning chair is stamped P&O for Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigation Company. It would have been originally secured to the floor in the dining rooms on one of the steamer ships. The ships were built to impress with opulent decoration. The chair is beautifully made from mahogany with an ornate cast iron fish base adorned with sea creatures. The chair has been fitted to a base at a later date. 
These rare chairs are now hard increasingly hard to find.  
Condition
In excellent condition. Its extremely heavy du to the cast metal detail underneath but comes apart into two for transport. Shows signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.
