Here for sale is a fantastic rare Victorian safe Milner's fire resistant safe. Handles stamped Milner and Sons Liverpool. Thomas Milner establshed his company in 1814 and in 1824 secured orders for strong boxes to the Duke of Wellington and the War Office. This rare fire resistant safe is the improved 1845 model as exhibitied at the 1851 Great Exhibition. It is of superb heavy construction with the makers mark stamped on the handles and ornate brass plaque to the front. It comes with original key and the lock works as smoothly as when it was made.Original paper label on underside of lid. Fantastic brass plaque to the front "improved for ... 1845". 
Stunning decorative and rare piece. Missing a circular plaque to the front. Otherwise in excellent condition with original key. Locks work very smoothly.  
Missing plaque to front. Shows signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.
