A fantastic antique watercolour. Signed with the initals of the artist. Reginald Daniel Sherrin (1891-1971), who mainly painted in watercolour and gouache. His father Daniel Sherrin was also a artist and was born in Seasalter near Whitstable, Kent. This example has no inscription of location, as often many has. We believe it was painted during his time in the West Country and probably of Dartmoor or Exmoor.
We have mounted the original painting in a salvaged gilt gesso frame. It has a new mount cut by a professional framer. Perfect to incorporate into any modern interior to add soul and character to a space.
Condition
Lots of losses of gesso plaster to frame.Shows signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.
Please look at photos closely as they form part of the item description.
Dimensions
46 cm width, 2.5 cm depth, 38 cm height
