A fantastic pair of antique bound books. Titled 'The Ruined Abbeys of Britain', written by Frederick Ross. Published in London by William Mackenzie and dates from around 1880. The pair of books have wonderful colour embossed cloth hardback cover. There are 12 colour plate/print and wood engravings, which are based on paintings by Alexander Francis Lydon (1836-1917). A renowned artist of landscapes and natural history during the late Victorian period. The colour plates are superb and could be removed and framed. Do refer to photos of list of Abbeys included. fabulous for any collector or to read and enjoy.

Condition

Bumped corners and spine. Foxing to some pages. Shows signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.
