A fantastic large antique foundry sand mould. Made from cast iron and mounted on wood. The design is a ornate crest fire place back and has a wonderful architectural quality. This mould would have been used hundreds of times to to produce the fire place back. We believe this example dates from the later part of the 19th century and came from a foundry for making fireplaces and architectural pieces in Hertfordshire. A fabulous timeworn patina which really adds to its charm. A wonderful salvaged item perfect to display in a garden or outside space to add a burst of personality and character.

Condition

This piece is extremely heavy so we will use a courier for delivery. Rust and tarnishing to the whole piece. Shows signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.
