Here for sale is a fantastic antique original shop sign for Fabric by Liberty. Arthur Liberty was born near us in Chesham, Buckinghamshire. He opened the department store in 1875 and in 1885 set up the in house apparel with Edward Godwin to rival the fashion houses of Paris.
When we saw this sign we had to have it. Unsure of age, but it has stunning colour and hung on the original hand forged bracket. This wonderful sign is double sided and has the remains or ivy which once grew up it. The cast iron bracket is hand forged by a blacksmith. This is a really unusual piece in great decorative condition and would look fabulous on the side of a house to add character.
Condition
Wear to painted surface of sign. Shows signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.
