A fantastic antique machinist chair. Cast to the base is the name 'Singer', for the Singer Sewing Machine Company. it was founded in 1851 in New York. This chair is much later and dates from the 1930s. An iconic chair which was used by seamstresses and tailors while making garments or used in a factory. The seat is made from beech and is bentwood. The original paint finish to the cast iron base has a wonderful timeworn patina that really adds to its look. The swivel chair adjustable height and back rest. A fabulous industrial piece, perfect to add soul and character to any modern interior.
Condition
This is a salvaged piece and has been used in a commerical setting. Shows signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.
