A stunning rare antique letterpress printers cabinet by Stephenson Blake. This is an exceptionally large example of these lovely cabinets. It contains 40 individual type setting drawers. Each drawer would have contained a set of printers type. Many are still labelled with the font. 
With makers label for Stephenson Blake Company Ltd and company stamp on each of the drawers. Stephenson Blake were maker of printing machinery and originally founded in 1819, in Sheffield. The company became Stephenson Blake and Co in 1879, when take over by Henry Stephenson and William Greaves Blake.
The wooden cabinet has metal frame to hold the drawers. Each drawer is divided in to compartments which have brass corners. The whole cabinet is very heavy with the drawers in, but the drawers can be removed for transoport. 
This stunning rare cabinet is a real statement piece and perfect for any collector to store and display collections. A fabulous salvaged piece which has been used for many years in a factory and now can be incorporated into a modern space. Adding soul and character.
Condition
This is a salvaged piece and has been used for many years in a factory environment. Shows signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.
