A fantastic antique salt glaze stoneware jar. Dating from the 19th Century, with original painted toleware tin lid. This would have adverstised tobacco or apothecary on a shop shelves. The gilt lettering is faded so difficult to see the name to the front. The lid has its original gold banding and storage label to the back, which adds to its charm. The moulded reflief to the front is just stunning. A rare and decorative item. Perfect to incorporate into a modern interior to add soul and character to a space.
Condition
Dent to ld. Small chip to base and to outer top rim. Shows signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Some small chips to the rim. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.
Please look at photos closely as they form part of the item description.
