A fantastic antique Sulphur apothecary jar. We believe that this is a later copy of a 19th Century Jar. The original is featured in the book "Heraldry and Stained Glass at Apothecaries' hall" describing the various Heraldry symbols in Apothecaries' hall of London.

The jar features the arms of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society. Sulphur is used in many medicated ointments due to its antibacterial properties and properties to speed up wound healing. The motto is Habenda Ratio Valetudinis (Take care of your health).

The jar in excellent condition with some wear to the gilt around the inside of the lid from use. A fabulous decorative piece, perfect to add soul and character to any modern interior.

Shows signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.

Please look at photos closely as they form part of the item description.
