Here for sale is a fantastic antique apothecary bottle. This bottle dates from the 19th century (Victorian or earlier). It has the original label for James Walker Ltd. They were bases and Tyne docks. They were family and shipping chemist based at 51-53 Hudson street, Tyne Docks, South Shields.

Sublimed ssulphur is used as a topical agent in lotions and creams for the purpose of treating skin conditions that require the use of scabicide (scabies skin parasites)and as a general antiparasitic.

The bottle bear its latin inscriptions for its contents. The pharmacist would need to know the meaning of these and use their handbooks of “materia medica” to keep up to speed with contents.

Original stopper, the glass jar has a wide neck and is in great condition which no cracks or chips.

The original label shows lots of wear but adds to its charm.  Shows signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.

We are a family company and love sourcing unusual pieces which bring a burst of individual style to the most modern of interiors, creating interiors with soul!
