A lovely set of three four antique apothecary bottles. All have original gilt edged glass labels and wide necks. The label under glass labels show that the bottles are late 19th Century. The  “Label Under Glass” was a technique used so that an elaborate and decorative label would be protected by covering in a thin layer of glass.
One of the bottles has the makers mark for the 'York Glass Co'. The York Flint glass company was set up in 1835 by Joseph Spence. They specialised in medical and pharmacy measuring vessels. The York Glass Company who operated in the latter 19th century/ early 20th century and would have made these bottles on a large scale as demand grew through the industrial revolution.  Perfect for staging in a bathroom or kitchen to add personality and soul to an interior. 
Condition
Very much as found with damage to labels. Smashed and distressed labels. Hand etched writing to neck of large bottle. Shows signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.
