Here for sale is a stunning and unusual swivel stool by Holtzman and Sons of Columbus, Ohio. Holtzman started in the 1860's but didn't move to Columbus until the 1890's so this stool dates to after that time which is consistent with the style of the stool which look around 1890 or turn of the century.
The stool combines industrial elements with the solid wooden top and iron swivel mechanism with screw to adjust height, turned legs and claw and ball feet with the ball being made from Crystal. Makes for an unusual and stunning stool.
The stool has some fault with the base having been repaired with 2 supporting metal strips. This repair is old and forms part of its history. There is some movement in the joints. Not surprisingly, there are chips out of the crystal balls through use over the years. Shows signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.
We are a family company and love sourcing unusual pieces which bring a burst of individual style to the most modern of interiors, creating interiors with soul!
