Here for sale is a lovely Aesthetic Movement table. The Aesthetic Movement aimed to escape the ugliness of the industrial age by creating art that was beautiful. It drew inspiration from art forms of the orient moving away from elaborate form to simpler design. Furniture was often ebonised.
This Victorian table is classic Aesthetic movement design with oriental influences, ebonised wood and turned legs in the style of Godwin. There is no makers mark on the table.
When open the table forms an octagon which with the simple turned legs provides a stunning effect.
The table is raised on black ceramic castors.
Shows signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.
We are a family company and love sourcing unusual pieces which bring a burst of individual style to the most modern of interiors, creating interiors with soul!
