Here for sale is a fantastic 19th Century Coaching Table bearing label for Thornton and Herne of Pont Street, London. Coaching tables were designed to be folded away and carried on the Coach to provide a flat surface away from home. They may also have been used as "Campaign" furniture during military campaigns. This large table opens and locks in to place with a bar underneath. When closed it is held shut by a hook with patent mark. A Beautifully made piece, still sturdy with stunning stained pine legs and top. A fabulous useful piece which is full of history, perfect for any modern interior to add soul and personality.
Condition
Shows signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. A few historical woodworm holes to the underside. There is a gap down the centre when openend where the brass hinges have loosened. This does not effect the function. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.
Please look at photos closely as they form part of the item description.
