A fantastic antique tray. Made from silver plate on brass and with a silver plate on copper twist banding around the edge. Fully hallmarked by the maker, Viners of Sheffield. Adolf and Emile changed their name from Viener to Viner in 1925. They are renowned maker and produced helmets in their Sheffield factory during the Second World War. This exquisite tray has the most wonderful chased design, with acanthus leaves and scrolls. Marked 'Alpha Plate' to the base. The base brass is coming through the main surface which gives it a lovely timeworn feel. On lovely ball and birds claw feet, this tray was probably used as a butlers tray in a grand country house. A fabulous period piece, perfect to add soul and character to any modern interior.

Brass showing through to main surface. Copper showing through twist rim. Shows signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.

Please look at photos closely as they form part of the item description.
