Here for sale is a great original vintage metal tin from Carr & Co biscuits. The tin is for thin arrowroot and is a paper label on metal. Great patina to tin and style to table, some of the label is missing in places but adds to its charm. Perfect as a planter or styled on a kitchen shelf.
The company was founded by J D Carr in 1831, and received their royal warrant from Queen Victoria in 1842. The company was based in Carlisle and by 1885 was producing over 128 varieties of biscuit and employed thousands of workers. The business is now part of United Biscuits.
The lid is stamped ML & Co. Lots of signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.
We are a family company and love sourcing unusual pieces which bring a burst of individual style to the most modern of interiors, creating interiors with soul!
