A fantastic set of three Vintage boxes. All three are made from papier mache and have a wonderful oriental design. The smallest ebonised box has two slots to the top for coins. The largest example shows its age and its original retailers label to base. Gamages was a department store in Holborn and traded between 1878 to 1972. probably made in China as export pieces. These lacquered boxes have a lovely timeworn patina. The hand painted scenes are stunning with birds and flowers. A fabulous set of three boxes, perfect for display or to use and enjoy.

Chips and cracking to surface. No keys. Shows signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.

Please look at photos closely as they form part of the item description.
