A lovely vintage glass pot and lid. Unsigned but very much in the style of the Egermann Company. The company dates back to the early 1800s, specializes in hand decorated glass with each piece posing a decorative and highly art oriented character. Egermann’s invention in 1832 of a process called “red staining” in where the dark ruby red coloring on each piece’s surface is decorated by baroque patterns using cutting and engraving processes.
It has a wonderful depth of colour, with etched scenes of leaping deer and castle. This example we believe dates to the middle part of the 20th century. A fabulous piece to add soul and character to any interior space.
Condition
Small chip to base rim. Shows signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.
Please look at photos closely as they form part of the item description.
