An exceptional, highly collectible mid-century industrial marine cargo light. Reclaimed from a decommissioned Japanese vessel, this premium fixture showcases the elite craftsmanship typical of historic Japanese maritime manufacturers like Kokosha (Osaka).
This piece features a striking, multi-toned material composition: heavy steel casting collars, a sleek polished brass tapering neck, and a warm, spun steel lower shade. It is a stunning, high-value statement piece built to an incredibly robust sea going standard.
Note: Price is per individual light. We currently have a sister light listed separately that is identical in size (43cm) but features an inverted layout with a steel top and a brass shade perfect if you are looking for a unique matching pair. Please see our other items.
At a perfectly proportioned 43 cm diameter, this fixture offers a commanding industrial presence without overpowering a room, making it perfect for residential ceiling heights. With its rich, mixed-metal gold and silver tones, this lamp provides incredible visual warmth. It is ideal as a primary feature light over a dining table, kitchen counter, home office desk, or entryway.
Professionally converted to modern standards with a domestic cable and a standard E27 screw-in bulb socket. Complete with the heavy-duty top loop bracket for chain suspension.
Condition
Excellent vintage salvage condition. The brass and steel surfaces carry a beautiful, genuine ocean-going patina with minor authentic age marks that tell the story of its maritime past.  Shows signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.
Please look at photos closely as they form part of the item description.
