An exceptional, highly collectible mid-century industrial marine explosion proof well glass light. Reclaimed from a decommissioned Japanese cargo vessel, this heavy duty pendant fixture perfectly showcases the high end industrial engineering typical of elite Japanese maritime brands like Kokosha.
Cast entirely from thick, marine grade aluminum, the light features a distinctively rugged ribbed housing and a heavy duty tempered well glass dome secured by classic, solid-brass wing-nut clamps. Built originally to survive high risk engine rooms and volatile cargo bays, it is an incredibly robust, sculptural design statement.
The fixture has been meticulously cleaned, hand polished to a beautiful bright finish, and fully rewired for safe modern residential or commercial installation.

Professionally converted to modern standards with a domestic cable and a standard E27 screw-in bulb socket. Complete with an integrated heavy-duty top loop cast directly into the head for chain suspension.
Condition
Excellent vintage salvage condition. The cast aluminium has been polished to a brilliant luster while fully preserving the rugged character, serial stamp outlines, and minor authentic surface textures from its life at sea.Shows signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.
