Original Antique Slingsby 'Sliding-Wheel' Industrial Trolley / Factory Cart
An exceptional, 100% authentic survival piece of British industrial heritage. This early 20th-century factory truck is a rare, fully branded example featuring its original ivorine maker’s plaque inset into the timber frame, alongside matching factory-branded cast iron wheels. 
Founded in Bradford in 1893, H.C. Slingsby quickly became the gold standard for industrial handling. The "Slingsby-Sliding-Wheel" system seen here was originally patented in 1894—a revolutionary design allowing the massive truck to balance on its central axis and swivel effortlessly on a dime inside tight factory spaces. 
Dating to the interwar period (circa 1920s–1930s), as proven by the Glasgow C.2 regional postal district mark, this piece represents Slingsby's legendary over-engineered build quality. 
Condition
Some signs of historical word worm (fully treated) and missing one of its plaques. Shows signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.
