A fantastic antique bookcase. With brass makers plaque, 'The Lebus Bookcase'. After the death of Louis Lebus in 1879, Harris Lebus took over. Lebus was a firm of cabinet makers grew during the Arts and Crafts period. Designers, craftsmen and draughtsmen were all employed to create high quality pieces for the Victorian middle classed. This example dates from the first part of the 20th Century.
This stacking sectional bookcase has glass up and over doors. Each section can be taken apart for transport. There is a bottom plinth and top pelmet. There is a retailer label to the back. It's a great size consisiting of four tiers. A great useful piece, perfect to incorporate into a modern interior to add soul and character to a space.
Condition
Shows signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.
