A fantastic antique English Royal Navy uniform trunk. Japanned metal finish with brass fittings. With a brass makers plaque with Larcom and Veysey, Navy and Army outfitters Portsea Portsmouth. Larcom and Veysey traded between 1882 and 1905 out of 52 Queen St, Portsea.
The trunk has a brass owners plaque for E.F Mortimer Staff Surgeon R.N. Edgar Mortimer was promoted to staff surgeon in 1900. He was appointed staff surgeon to HMS Pelorus in 1904 and HMS Sirius in 1906. This is a beautiful piece with a fascinating history. Perfect for storage or display, adding soul and character to any modern interior.
Condition
Shows signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.
