A fantastic antique silver plate food dome. This cloche has a wonderful tarnished patina and has only been given a light clean. It would have been used in a grand country house on the dining table to cover food.
The famous firm of cutlers and silversmiths founded in Sheffield in 1682. It was converted under the style of Joseph Rodgers & Sons Ltd in 1871.The factory was at 6 Norfolk Street, Sheffield and a showroom at 60 Holborn Viaduct, London. New large works were opened in 1899 at River Lane, Sheffield.
This fabulous meat dome is made by a famous Victorian maker and is perfect to stage in the home or upcycle to a hanging lamp shade!
Condition
Tarnished due to age. Shows signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.
