A fantastic antique pair of framed prints. Four original prints stamped by the maker, Henry Bradbury (1829-60). Taken from his book 'The Ferns of Great Britain', and published in 1855. These wonderful seaweed fern prints use an innovative technique invented by Alois Auer and Andreas Worring in 1852. Bradbury improved this technique of pressing leaf specimens onto thin soft lead plates to create an fine detailed impression.

This collection comprises four of Bradbury's printed ferns. The book was written by Thomas Moore (1821-87) who was Curator of the Chelsea Physic Garden. The work was edited by the botanist John Lindley (1799-1865) and published by Bradbury & Evans, London. A stunning set of period prints, perfect to add soul and character to any modern interior.
