A fantastic antique writing slope. Dating from the 19th Century and covered with embossed leather. Marked on the top, the owners name 'Captain J. F Prowse, Royal Navy'.
James Ferris Prowse is recorded as serving aboard the HMS Thetis in 1852 in British Columbia and of being the Captain of HMS Cockatrice from 1868 to 1871. He died in 1903. This is a lovely writing slope with leather covered wood and a fully fitted interior. It shows lots of signs of its adventures and is a well loved piece. Perfect for ay collector or to use and enjoy.
Condition
Areas of missing leather to the exterior. The interior has some losses and damage. Please check out the photos carefully. Shows signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.

We do use couriers and hand deliver delicate items such as mirrors where we can and is reflected in the delivery cost.
